Privacy Policy
Private Tools is built so that your files never leave your device. This page explains exactly what that means and what little data we do collect.
Your files are never uploaded
Every tool on this site runs in your browser using Canvas and Web Worker APIs built into the browser itself. When you choose a file, it is read directly from your device's memory and processed there. It is never sent to our servers or any third party — in fact, this site has no file-upload server at all.
No accounts, no tracking of who you are
There is nothing to sign up for. We don't ask for your name, email address, or any other personal information, and we don't create user accounts or profiles.
What analytics we collect
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site in aggregate. When you run a tool, it records which tool you used, the input and output file sizes in bytes, how long processing took, and whether your chosen target size was met. Google Analytics also collects standard data such as the page you visited, the referring site, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. It never records your filenames or the contents of your files — that data never leaves your browser in the first place, so there is nothing to send.
Local storage on your device
This site uses your browser's localStorage to remember small conveniences on your own device, such as your recently used tools, saved workflows, and your light/dark theme preference. This data stays in your browser and is never transmitted to us.
